Surviving ONE YEAR!

Well Peter and I have got through the first milestone pretty much unscathed! We have just celebrated Gabby's 1st Birthday, with an outing to the Auckland Zoo on Saturday and a family BBQ on Sunday.
Gabby seemed to really enjoy the visit to the zoo, but with such a limited vocabulary we can only assume this from the pointing, smiles and "ooh" sounds that she made.
Sunday was another beautiful Auckland day and just perfect for all (bar one) of the aunts and the two Grandmas plus one Great Grandma to come to our house and enjoy a BBQ to celebrate Gabby turning one! She was well spoilt receiving many books (a majority of the aunts are teachers!) and clothes, so all very useful for a growing baby who loves reading (and making a mess of her clothes)
I was a little sad when I thought about how quickly the year has gone and how much our wee girl has grown. I want to keep her as my little bundle who I can have cuddle up to me on my lap (mind you with Pete's genes, this will probably only be for another 5 months!)
She is now talking from the moment she wakes up until about 2 minutes before she falls asleep, she is walking (or at least trying very hard) about 90% of the time, and is becoming quite the determined little girl, who knows what she wants and usually how to get it. She loves swimming and throwing all of her toys out of her toy box as well as talking on the telephone and cuddling her two best friends; Freddie and Peter Rabbit, (they have to get up when she does in the morning and come in for a cuddle in Mummy and Daddys bed with her, or we hear all about it!) She loves tickling toes and giving and receiving cuddles as well as beautiful wet kisses. She is a our wee Angel.
